Description

“In order to fully understand the institutional structures that support racism, we need these physical face-to-face conversations to happen on multiple levels simultaneously, across the country.” – Sheldon Scott

In April 2015, Sheldon Scott and Deirdre Darden co-curated an exhibit called Black Lives/White Light, which featured 8 white artists and their engagement with the Black Lives Matter movement. Powerful discussions emerged around some of the most sensitive topics America confronts, including race, justice and its relationship with violence.

For three evenings in June, TABLETRIBES and Black Lives/White Light collaborate on the Radius Project to further expand these conversations. This collaboration addresses the need to continue driving the national dialogue forward, and rebuild trust and understanding in our communities.

People who RSVP will be helping TABLETRIBES test their app. The app will facilitate more meaningful connection between participants in the room with the ability to 1) choose among topics relevant to each evening’s theme and 2) get matched with targeted people within the room who want to discuss the same topics. We will be there to help you through the process and gather feedback.

Insights from this test allow us to move towards our goal of leveraging technology to add depth and scale to our face-to-face interactions with the people around us. At the root of groundbreaking movements that change the world is the ability to exchange information in-person. This is an opportunity to discover our commonalities, share our differences, and gain new insights into how we can best contribute to the world around us.

More details will be sent after you register. We encourage you to bring a guest (don't forget to register them). Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
